About this blog

Carlos Paiz, my grandfather, used to say, “if we can dream it, we can make it”. I dream with a more prosperous and peaceful Guatemala. I firmly believe that through an enriching dialogue, consensus-building and a roadmap based on realistic goals and clear principles.

Guatemala faces a number of significant challenges, but we will not be able to surpass them until every single one of us gets involved in this transformation process. We must take action. We must stop “worrying” and start “doing” what we need to change the situation. And that is the reason why I created this blog, a space where we can discuss and debate around public policies and current events.

Certainly my columns are not an absolute truth. In them I present my opinion about everything I read, see and witness. I also present certain ideas and thoughts, which, I believe, could become possible solutions to our biggest challenges.

The main purpose of this space is for us to share ideas and, mainly, to receive your feedback. I am confident that we will achieve great things if we all participate actively in this process.
